    Food Distribution

    Every 3rd Thursday of the month, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, we host our monthly food distribution to support families with nutritious food, household essentials, and a sense of belonging. Our work goes beyond food—we’re here to nourish the body, empower the spirit, and honor our heritage. We invite you to connect with us, support our mission, or simply stop by and feel the love. Whether you need a helping hand or want to lend one, Ala Garifuna Women welcomes you with open arms.

    Garifuna Heritage Month

    ALA Garifuna Women is hosting our second annual Garifuna Heritage Month- a month-long celebration of Garifuna culture and history, featuring community workshops, performances and celebrations in one full event in April. Garifuna Heritage Month is an opportunity to celebrate the resilience of the Garifuna people.

    Self Study GED, ESL, Computer And Reding Club

    Ala Garifuna Women is hosting our self study program. a place where you available to study on you on pace open for everyone, every. Tuesday and Thursdays 2:pm to 9:pm, at ALA Community Center. 7418 S 126st 1B Seattle WA 98178 This event will provide the opportunity to learn about English, Ged study, computer and reading. as well discuss collaborations to further serve our communities. ALA will offer online available resources as mention below.

    Cultural Activities

    Ala Garifuna Women empowers our community through culture, creativity, and sisterhood. We offer workshops in fabric doll making, Garifuna cooking, and handmade jewelry. Rooted in tradition and pride, we preserve our heritage, uplift women, and strengthen identity—one craft, one recipe, and one connection at a time.

    Health Workshop

    A Health Workshop, organizing, and executing health-related workshops, aiming to educate and empower participants on specific health topics or promote healthy behaviors, also providing informational resources.

  • 06.

    Domestic Workers Workshop

    The Domestic Workers Ordinance gives domestic workers the right to minimum wage protections, meal periods, and paid rest breaks. Live-in domestic workers have rights to time off from work. Under City law, domestic workers also have a right to keep their personal documents and possessions. This law protects domestic workers regardless of their employment status or immigration status. This law has been in effect since July 1, 2019.

Through food, we tell our stories, preserve our heritage, and strengthen our bonds. Whether you're here to learn, share, or simply taste something new, we’re excited to have you join us in this flavorful journey.
